"Note to Self" is a series of abstract works which serve as a way to make sense of the senseless. They take the amorphous thoughts, worries, and emotions which pass through my mind and give them form and color.

The act of baptism is both visually, metaphorically and spiritually violent. With this series, I am examining what exactly baptism represents socially, the death of one's individual identity, and how that negatively affects people's ability to critically think outside their religion. The imagery expands beyond that of a baptism, drawing inspiration from historical art and from contemporary events.

"Rediscovery" examines the triumphs and traumas of life which build each person into their individual self. Through a series of personal interviews, these works investigate the interwoven nature of our past, how others may have tried to shape us, and our present personal desired identities. Our views of self versus outer perceptions share a role in creating who we are, but ultimately, the decision is up to each individual of who they are and want to be.
